the helm society

Sustainability is a bit of a buzz word in fashion right now, and rightly so. With the huge influx of fast fashion and increasingly cheaper prices of clothing, there is a whole lot more waste occurring. I am most definitely guilty, with my over flowing wardrobe and H&M purchases. Which is why the more educated we become about where our clothes come from, and what materials they are being made out of, the better. It is something you simply cannot unlearn, so I was excited to attend the Helm's society event last Thursday. Held at The Plant Gallery at Bondi (a raw, vegan restaurant I have been meaning to try for ages!). The morning was lovely, getting to meet 5 different sustainable Aussie designers and hear their stories and what the do over some yummy raw food! My favourite was most definitely Bon Label - a minimal, french inspired brand made from organic ethical cotton (in love with their soft as bonjour tees!). I also thoroughly enjoyed the dairy free vegan mousse we were given on the way out - seriously yum!
